Dragon's Trove Shawl Knitting Pattern (PDF)
PDF digital pattern only
The Dragon’s Trove shawl pattern is inspired by the shape of a Dragon’s wing. This shawl is designed to showcase those special little minis. The simple design is suitable for beginners, so you can relax and enjoy how the yarn is working up. Instructions are written for 12 x 20g minis and 24 x 10g minis in 4ply yarn or 24 x 20g DK weight yarn. Tutorials are linked in the pattern to help you with picking up stitches on the Icord and the Icelandic bind off. Instructions are for both fingering and DK weight yarn. The price on my website includes VAT, if you purchasing from outside the UK you may find it cheaper on Raverly.
Requirements
Use either:
240g Fingering / 4ply weight yarn. You can use 24 x 10g or 12 x 20g minis.
Or 480g Double Knit weight yarn. You can use 24 x 20g minis.
Six Stitch markers.
3.5 mm 4.5mm circular needles for 4ply DK version. I would recommend a minimum of 80cm (31 inch) cable for circular needles.
Gauge
Using Fingering DK weight yarn, garter stitch 7 6 stitches per inch, 10 8 rows per inch. The fingering weight version of the shawl is 157.5cm / 62inches long on the top edge and 53.3cm / 21inches from the cast on edge to the centre point. Gauge is not important; however you may run out of yarn if your gauge is very loose.
