Triangulum Blanket and Cowl Pattern (PDF)
The Triangulum blanket is inspired by the Triangulum star constellation. It consists on simple triangular units that can easily be joined as you go. It is written so that each triangle does not take a lot of concentration, once you have the stitches cast on.
I have now updated the instructions to include a cowl. The PDF pattern includes links to tutorials for the construction of the cowl as well as the icord tutorials linked below.
Requirements
The pattern is written for both 4ply/fingering and DK weight yarn. Each triangle requires 3-4g of yarn so you can either use your leftover yarn or advent calendar minis. You can knit the pattern into a hexagonal shape or one that is more of a square / rectangle. You could also knit this pattern into a wrap or shawl shape. The possibilities are endless!
2.75mm DPN needles for the 4 ply version / 3.5mm DPN needles for the DK version.
You will need approximately 3g of 4ply yarn or 4g of DK yarn for each triangle.
Gauge
Each triangle should be approximately 3 ¾ inches (9.5cm) on each side (for both 4ply / fingering and DK versions).
However, size is not too important as long as you are happy with the texture of the fabric you produce.
Icord Tutorials
I would recommend finishing the blanket of with an i-cord bind-off. I have a tutorial on YouTube for finishing a blanket with i-cord, which can be found here: https://youtu.be/PO1XkveJbd0
I also have a tutorial showing you how I join icord when you have finished knitting it around your blanket: https://youtu.be/dVOHF_IGyVw
